Your amiibo, your hero! When you touch the NFC contact point on the Wii U GamePad, Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite or Switch OLED with an amiibo figure in a compatible game, you can discover surprising new features. amiibo have different effects depending on the game: you can unlock new modes, weapons or character customisations, or improve your amiibo figure s abilities to make it a perfect partner or powerful opponent. Your figure s data is also updated as you play, making your amiibo unique!

One amiibo, multiple games
An amiibo figure can be used in multiple games. This takes your favourite titles to a whole new level of gaming fun. Even if you have saved game data from Super Smash Bros. on your amiibo figure, for example, you can use it to unlock content in Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors and other titles.
In some titles, it is possible to read certain data from an amiibo figure and save it to it. In other games, you can only read data from an amiibo. For example, when you touch the NFC contact point with an amiibo, you can transfer that character or some of its properties into the game.

The amiibo interact with compatible games when they come into contact with the NFC contact point. This transfers data stored on the figure to the game and also transfers information from the game to the figure.
The various compatible games use the amiibo s capabilities in different ways. 
Players can choose whether they want to team up with their amiibo characters or compete against them. Either way, the figures can be developed over time. If you want, you can easily show your friends the progress and newly acquired skills of your amiibo: simply hold the figure against a friend s NFC contact point – and the interactive fun can continue!
