Semi-floating mounting
The entire CD mechanism is mounted in a semi-floating state that is not fully attached to the chassis of the unit. This carefully engineered design prevents feedback that could adversely affect the reading of the disc by preventing the transmission of vibrations generated by the spindle motor and actuator to the chassis and any resonant vibrations caused. At the same time, in areas where rigid mounting methods are used, a structure that takes into account both rigid and flexible aspects is developed to eliminate audio quality impacts from dampers used when mounting drive components. This achieves a more precise reading of the disc and maintains a higher level of purity.

Drive control circuit with optimised design
To achieve an even higher level, an optimised drive control circuit for the CD mechanism has been developed. By controlling the spindle motor with smooth feedback to create a natural rotation state, an even more uninfluenced and open sound has been achieved. In addition, BTL drive is used, which produces no switching noise, starting with the spindle and including the actuator that drives the scanning lens. This eliminates minimal impact on the signal reading and increases the purity of the signal.

Discrete circuits use toroidal core transformers
Transformers with a toroidal core are used for the power supply. In addition, the power supplies for the OLED display, CD drive and microcomputer circuit and the audio circuit are separate, with dedicated secondary coils and rectifiers for each area. To consider audio quality, independent discrete circuits are used for the CD drive, microcomputer and audio circuit.

Crystal-based internal clock with low phase noise
With digital connections, the clock accuracy of the upstream devices can influence the quality of the entire system. For the internal clock of the PD-505T, a crystal-based clock with low phase noise is used, which has outstanding phase noise characteristics. By reading the CD signals based on a high-precision standard clock, the original sounds stored on the CD can be accurately output digitally.

10MHz external clock input
The sound can be further improved by feeding in an even more precise clock signal from an external source. Furthermore, in a digital playback system, not only can the audio quality be improved by increasing the accuracy of the upstream devices, but it is also possible to build an even higher quality digital system by, for example, clock synchronisation with a DAC.

Hardware design
The all-metal body provides vibration resistance and a stylish appearance in an A4 size that fits on a desk. Since the entire body is made of metal plates that are resistant to external noise, the penetration of electromagnetic interference generated by computers and other devices is suppressed. This allows for a clean internal environment with low noise, even under difficult conditions for audio equipment. In addition, the 8 mm thick aluminium plates covering both sides of the entire metal chassis provide an installation structure that does not unnecessarily twist or bend the chassis or the front and rear panels and ensures a strong and precise shape. With the size of an A4 page (viewed from above), the device can be placed on a desk, side table or other small space.

Semi-floating top plate
A design with a semi-floating top plate is used. The top panel is not fixed to the chassis with screws, but only partially fixed by the side panels, which allows for a sound with an open character.
